The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS) again inaugurated new students for the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS) on Monday, January 10, 2022. These new students had passed the New Student Admission Selection (SPMB) Universitas Sebelas Maret for the academic year 2021/2022 and have been meet the requirements and have re-registered.

A number of 99 new PPDS students who wore blue alma mater coats were enthusiastic in participating in the inauguration ceremony which was attended by Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S., the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and related officials.

The Rector of UNS in his written remarks that was read by the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs said that the medical profession by most people was still considered a noble job because it contained sacred duties. By holding on to the glory of his doctor's oath, it was hoped that a doctor will always place a nobler interest, namely ‘humanity’ above his own personal interests.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K), in his speech said that:

"Maintain good relations with colleagues and other professional colleagues when studying, because from them you will later get a lot of useful knowledge".

This PPDS New Student would later undergo Pre-Education activities at the Faculty of Medicine and at Regional General Hospital Dr. Moewardi Surakarta (RSDM) before starting his education period, most of which would be spent at Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Dr. Moewardi Solo.
