HITIHE FK UNS: Workshop on Online Learning E-Cases Scenario


 

For 5 days, Monday to Friday (November 29 - December 3, 2021) started at 14.30-18.30 Western Indonesia Time, the HITIHE (Health Information and Technology for Improved Health Education in South-East Asia) team of the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp, Belgium held an online workshop about Online Learning e-Cases Scenario. Participants in this workshop consisted of representatives from the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS), Tropical Medicine Center, Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada, and the National Institute of Public Health Cambodia with speakers from the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp Belgium. Bulan Kakanita Hermasari, M.Med.Ed.; dr. Yusuf Ari Mashuri, M.Sc.; dr. Muhammad Hafizhan; dr. Astrida Fesky; Suprapti, S.Pd) and the clinical representatives of the Fever Based Disease module: dr. Maryani Sp.MK., M. Si; dr. Dian Ariningrum, Sp.PK., M.Kes; dr. Evi Nurhayatun, SpPD, MKes, FINASIM; dr. Husnia Auliyatul Umma, SpA, MKes; dr. This activity was held as a form of collaboration between the Center for Tropical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret, and the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp, Belgium.

This online workshop through the Zoom Meeting platform invited Carlos Kiyan, MD. Lai Jiang MD, Maria Zolfo, MD., Ph.D., Steven Van Den Broucke MD, and Stefaan Vande Walle who were representatives of the Clinical Science Department (CSD) Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) Antwerp, Belgium.

On this occasion the ITM team, Belgium explained in detail the steps needed to prepare clinical case scenarios electronically as a method that can be applied in online learning. The workshop was begun by preparing the learning objectives to be achieved, preparing materials, and compiling the correct form of multiple choice and filling questions to evaluate students' abilities after participating in the learning process and direct simulation of the Xmind application to create mind-maps and the Articulate 360 application which can then be applied in Moodle platform which is quite interesting when applied in the learning process. A breakout room session was also held for each university team to get detailed input and direction about the e-Cases scenario method based on the material prepared by each university. The Faculty of Medicine UNS itself prepared 3 cases which were made in articulate form and presented in the workshop activities to get direction and input from resource persons and workshop participants. This articulate application is planned to be used in the preparation of the Fever Based Disease, Lung Mycosis and Outbreak Investigation modules which will be carried out by the HITIHE FK UNS Team.
