Webinar International Continuing Medical Education Series (INCOMES) by SMART-IPEC UNS

Since ancient times, education for health professions has been provided under the responsibility of each profession without any collaboration with other professions. Lack of current understanding of the role of each profession and lack of interprofessional communication can have a negative impact on patient safety and recovery. Interprofessional education (IPE) is a collaboration between at least two health professions with the aim of providing patients with the best treatment to improve health outcomes. Through the IPE curriculum at the University, students are expected to practice to improve skills, behavior and attitudes in communicating and collaborating with other professions as well as respecting and understanding the role of other professions so that in the future it can be applied in the world of work.

The IPE Center Section of Universitas Sebelas Maret held a webinar with the topic “International Continuing Medical Education Series (Incomes), IPE: From Basic to Practices” Wednesday, December 8, 2021 via online and broadcasted via live streaming on the Youtube channel of the Medicine Study Program, Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS) via the link https://bit.ly/youtubewebinarIPE . This activity was attended by 185 participants consisting of lecturers, educators, and students both from UNS and from other universities.

The activity was opened by Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P (K), as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine UNS, then continued with the presentation of material on the Collaborative Care Curriculum: process, content and evaluation provided by Assoc. Professor. Dr. Fiona Kent as director of Collaborative Services and Integrated Professional Learning, Monash University School of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. The next presentation of the material was given by dr. Amandha Boy Timor, M.MedEd on Practical and Experience of Implementing IPE Learning. After the presentation of the material was finished, a question and answer session was held in which participants actively asked the two speakers. The activity was then closed with a group photo.
