Workshop on Standard Operational Procedure FK UNS
Some experts have an opinion about the definition of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) which is basically almost the same in meaning. SOP is a guide used to ensure that the operational activities of an organization, agency, or university (Perti) run smoothly. SOP is a series of procedures that need to be done to get the desired results, this will be a guide for education personnel on what they should do. SOP is a sequence of steps in terms of carrying out work, namely the work is carried out which relates to what must be done, how to do it, when and where to do it, also who should do it. SOP is a document that contains a series of written instructions. The document is standard and official. The document contains a series of processes for administering office administration which contains how to do the work, the time of execution, the place of implementation, and also who will carry it out.
Higher education institutions develop effective SOP guidelines, basically showing that the higher education institutions have the will to improve activity steps and decision making and update them in accordance with the demands of the changes experienced.
SOP guidelines or manuals are one of the most important assets for Higher Education to control all decisions and activities it carries out in a systematic and effective manner. The bigger the Higher Education, the greater the demand to have adequate control devices. Operational aspects must be as good as administrative aspects. The revenue side should also be as good as cost control. All of this can only be realized if Higher Education has clear guidelines on decision-making and its activities.
