FK UNS International Lecture (Online Learning): Covid-19 Pandemic Conditions from a Laboratory Perspective


 

The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS) in collaboration with the Specialist Doctors Association (PDS) of Clinical Pathology (PatKlin) Surakarta Branch held an International Lecture on 18/11/2021 online. This International Lecture aims to describe the condition of the Covid-19 pandemic from a laboratory perspective. The International Lecture event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K) and moderated by Prof. Dr. J.B. Suparyatmo, dr., Sp.PK(K).

In this event, the Faculty of Medicine UNS invited two speakers. The first speaker was Panatpong Hutacharoen, Ph.D who gave material on How Laboratory Contribute in Coping with Covid-19 Pandemic. He spoke about the increased laboratory workload during the Covid-19 pandemic and the importance of automating laboratory examinations to overcome the laboratory workload.

The second speaker is dr. Tonang Dwi Ardyanto, Sp.PK(K), PhD, FISQua and he talked about How Indonesia Coping with Covid-19 Pandemic from Laboratory Perspective. In the material, dr. Tonang explained about the role of laboratories in helping to diagnose and monitor the condition of Covid-19 in Indonesia, namely the progress of molecular testing and the skills of laboratory personnel increasing rapidly during the Covid-19 pandemic.
