Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK-UNS) held the Inauguration and Hippocratic Oath Taking on Wednesday (13/10/2021). This Doctor's Inauguration and Hippocratic Oath was the 217th period held by the FK UNS since its establishment in 1976.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the implementation of the Doctor's Inauguration and Oath is carried out via hybrid (online and offline). Of the 82 participants who took part in this event, 72 new doctors joined via online and 10 participants took part offline at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine UNS.

In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K), said that this Doctor's Inauguration and Hippocratic Oath is the first step for new doctors.

“This is your first ladder to step up, there are many other ladders to climb for your career. You can be a lecturer, you can be a professional, you can be a doctor who concentrates on your clinical expertise or sub-specialties, the most important thing is that you can be useful to the community,” Prof. Reviono said.

Moreover, Prof. Reviono said that if the new doctor who was sworn in was a storefront from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), so whatever they did, the name of UNS would also be assessed, whether it was good or bad. 

At the Doctor's Inauguration and Hippocratic Oath this time, there were 7 participants with the Cumlaude predicate and the highest of Grade Point Average (GPA) was achieved by Adilla Shafryantyo Purnomo with a GPA of 3.79. With the inauguration of the 217th period doctors today, since the establishment in 1976, FK UNS has graduated 6,641 (Six Thousand Six Hundred and Fourty One) doctors, who have spread throughout the country and have devoted their knowledge to various institutions, in the field of health services, education, research, as well as government doctors, private, TNI / POLRI and others.
