UNS Collaborates with OJK Holds Covid-19 Vaccination at FK UNS
Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta continues to support the efforts made by the Government in tackling the spread of Covid-19 by holding vaccinations for students and the general public in the Surakarta City area.
UNS in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the UNS Alumni Family Association (IKA) and the Surakarta City Government held a mass vaccination on Thursday (30/9/2021) at the Auditorium of the UNS Faculty of Medicine.
The activity was attended by the Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Prof. Wimboh Santoso, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D, Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, UNS Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, SH., M. Hum, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K) started a teleconference with the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo and representatives of the OJK branch office that carried out vaccinations in the cities of Batang, Purwokerto and Semarang.
UNS Chancellor Prof. Jamal in a teleconference opportunity with the Governor of Central Java said that UNS had started Face-to-Face Lectures (PTM) on September 6 and went well, even the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo had the opportunity to see face-to-face lectures at the Faculty of Medicine on September 13, 2021. ago. UNS will continue to increase the capacity of PTM participants when the PPKM level also decreases.
"Why does OJK participate in encouraging people to be vaccinated, because this economy can only be good if the community is healthy, including at this time because Covid must be vaccinated to be healthy and this must be fast if it takes too long for our economy to recover," said Wimboh Santoso.
It was further stated that the recent decline in Covid-19 cases has made the government dare to lower the PPKM level to a lower level which makes people more flexible in their activities so that the economy will rise again. However, he still urges that the easing of community activities must still be followed by the implementation of strict health protocol.
On a separate occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Reviono, said that the Faculty of Medicine, UNS, was ready to cooperate with any party for the acceleration of vaccination.
"We are ready to work with anyone, this time with OJK, with IKA UNS. Previously, we were with the TNI and Polri then also with the Health Service. For us at the Faculty of Medicine, UNS is ready to vaccinate for the benefit of our nation," said Prof Reviono.
