Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta has started Face-to-face Lectures (PTM) on Monday (6/9/2021). The first day of PTM in UNS was held in four faculties: Faculty of Medicine (FK), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Law (FH) and Faculty of Sports (FKOR).

During his visit, the Mayor of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, praised the implementation of health protocols that have been very strictly implemented in UNS, Gibran also saw the very high enthusiasm of UNS students, both those who took lectures directly on campus or through online media. Gibran suggested for students that live outside the region of Surakarta who had just received the first dose of vaccination to pursue a second dose of vaccine before returning to Surakarta (Solo) to attend offline lectures.

Prof. Jamal explained that PTM participants must have received at least one dose of vaccination, domicile in Solo Raya area, get permission from the student's parents and have no comorbidities or congenital diseases. The PTM capacity is 30 percent of the normal capacity.

The Vice Dean of Academic, Research and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Medicine, Paramasari Dirgahayu, dr., Ph.D, explained that before the PTM was held, the parents of students had been given information and consent forms. For those who allow their children to take part in PTM, they are required to fill out a Google Form and fill out a letter of approval which was affixed with a signature on stamp duty.

Furthermore, dr. Paramasari explained that Face-to-face Lectures held at the Faculty of Medicine were still in a hybrid system, so students from outside the region could continue to attend lectures via online. During lectures, each student was required to adhere to health protocols, measure body temperature before entering class, wash hands, wear masks during the learning process and maintain distance.

This Face-to-Face Lecture activity was carried out based on Circular (SE) Number 87/UN27/PK.01.03/2021 concerning Face-to-Face Lectures for Undergraduate and Diploma Program Students at Universitas Sebelas Maret which was published on Thursday (2/9/2021) by the Vice Rector of Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus. M.S. In addition, the implementation of this PTM had also obtained permission from the Mayor of Surakarta.
