However, technology still cannot replace the role of teaching staff (lecturers) and learning interactions between students and teachers, because education is not only about obtaining knowledge but also about values, cooperation, and competence. This pandemic situation is a challenge for the creativity of each individual in using technology to develop the world of education. This challenge is also an opportunity for all about how the use of technology in making students to become competent during this 21st century era. The most important skill in this era is self-directed learning or independent learning as an outcome of education.
This pandemic period can train and instill the habit of being independent learners through various online classes or webinars that are attended by students. In addition, students can also work together with each other to solve problems in learning. This situation is not only as a challenge for students, but also for lecturers in delivering education where lecturers need to ensure that their students understand the learning material. Online learning is a challenge for the world of education with the situation in Indonesia which has thousands of islands. There are some challenges that need to be faced such as how can technology be used, how to provide internet access in remote areas where electronic goods without internet access are still a luxury. This is a challenge for all parties, now we have to work hard together to bring technology to answer the real problems that occur in students who are less fortunate in terms of economy and technology who are in remote areas.
Answering those problems, the teaching staff (lecturers) of the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS) always strive to create a good learning method or system. The learning method currently being created is a learning video.
