"With the spirit of 45, increasing the creativity and innovation of the Tri Dharma of higher education to the excellence of UNS as PTN BH"

(Friday, 5/2/2021) At the Rectorate Building of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), a press conference for the 45th Anniversary of UNS was held. This event was attended by all Anniversary committees, deans, media crews, and other participants (online and offline). Quoted from the speech by the Rector of UNS Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, SH, M.Hum., this 2021 Anniversary is the first momentum of Universitas Sebelas Maret as a Legal Entity State University (PTN BH) in accordance with Government Regulation No.56 of 2020 on 6 October 2020. Since the status of UNS as a PTN BH, UNS will create integrity for Indonesia to increase the creativity and innovation of the Legal Entity State University. Therefore, the committee members have agreed to take the theme of the 45th anniversary of UNS: "With the spirit of 45 increasing the creativity and innovation of the Tri Dharma of higher education towards excellence, Universitas Sebelas Maret, as a Legal Entity State University”.

The celebration of UNS anniversary is still in the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, therefore almost all of its activities will be adjusted to the situation and conditions due to Covid-19. So, more events will be carried out online, ranging from virtual competitions, cultural arts activities, scientific activities, sports, exhibitions and ceremonial events. Competition activities will begin on February 1, 2021. Furthermore, for ceremonial activities, anniversary ceremonies, planting trees by professors, inauguration nights, and open senate sessions will be held on March 12, 2021 (the anniversary will not be held on March 11, 2021 due to the national holiday). The highlight of the anniversary event will be filled with scientific speeches for the 2019 Nobel laureates, outstanding alumni, and awards to cultural and artistic figures (to Mrs. Waljinah).

In preparation for the 45th UNS anniversary celebration, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P (K), directly led the discussion (online) in the FK UNS environment in celebrating the 45th anniversary of UNS by forming a committee and a technical team. This technical discussion presented the Dean, the Heads of Study Programs, the Head of Labs, lecturers, students, and educational staff who were involved in this technical preparation.

In addition to the discussion on technical preparation for the competition (online), the Public Relations team of FK UNS was led directly by the Deputy Dean for Planning, Business Cooperation and Information, Dr. Selfi Handayani, dr., M.Kes., discussed offline (still following the health protocol) with the Public Relations team to support the 45th UNS Anniversary event. With the movement of Public Relations in delivering news to the public, it can have a positive impact on an institution or agency. UNS becomes a World Class University, with this label UNS will become one of the universities in Indonesia that has international standards in the field of science and technology development among academics. From the results that have been achieved at the anniversary celebration this time, the role of Public Relations is also very important in introducing UNS, especially the Faculty of Medicine, UNS to the wider community (especially at the international level) to get a good image.
