"We create FK UNS graduate doctors who will later serve for the benefit of humanity in fighting Covid-19"

The mindset of a new student must be different from the previous one. Especially for new students of Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS), Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS). As many as 497 of the applicants for various study programs and those who passed the selection in the last stage were 87 new students, none other than doctors who will take specialist education at FK UNS.

The message quoted from the speech of Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., the Rector of UNS, to the new students of PPDS FK UNS Period II Academic Year 2020/2021 at the FK UNS Auditorium (1/2/2021).

"Your choice to choose UNS as a place to study, especially in the Specialist Medical Education Program, Faculty of Medicine, UNS, is the right choice. The quality of UNS in developing the mission of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education cannot be underestimated because its reputation is increasing rapidly, this is reflected in the recognition both from the government and society at the national and international levels, including UNS occupies or has a predicate of an A-accredited or superior university. by BAN PT. UNS is also in the 11 best universities in Cluster 1 (only 15 universities have entered from thousands of universities in Indonesia). On October 6, 2020, UNS has officially become a Legal Entity State University (PTNBH). In the future, UNS can enter the international university level at least in the 500 best universities in the world. Being a PPDS FK UNS student with a ratio of 1:32 means that those who are admitted to PPDS are all great doctors. Future doctors who are specialists and will serve the interests of society, future doctors who are anti-commercialization of doctors. We build doctors and doctors who graduated from FK UNS who will later serve for the benefit of humanity in fighting Covid-19”.

Added Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P (K), the Dean of FK UNS: "PPDS students, after being inaugurated by the Rector of UNS, are then submitted to the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sebelas Maret who was later accepted and educated with the team of all study programs in FK UNS in collaboration with teaching hospitals both in the main teaching hospital of RSDM (Dr. Moewardi Hospital) and network hospitals, one of which is the UNS Hospital and also other hospitals around Surakarta. On March 11, 2021, UNS, which was still relatively young, has entered its 45th year, which continued to develop and was of course followed by all faculties. The ranking showed that we are competing with other universities. To achieve maximum results, team work is needed, so PPDS students who are admitted to FK UNS can become team work along with lecturers and educational staff. So, PPDS students are expected to develop themselves to compete with other universities. The admission of PPDS students with varying percentages shows the rigor of the selection, so it is hoped that this opportunity is used as well as possible. The current PPDS student admission is the second period during the Covid-19 pandemic. You are all here besides being students as well as health servants. When practicing or serving medically at the hospital, a large percentage of contracting Covid-19, PPDS students must have the intention of learning to gain good clinical skills and also serve the community and their own safety."
