(Friday, 23/4/2021) Research Group Disease Control (RGDC) Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sebelas Maret (FK UNS) held a Literature Study Workshop on Bibliometric Analysis via online using the Zoom Meeting application platform. The event which took place from 07.30 to 09.30 a.m. (Western Indonesian Time) was attended by members and research assistants from RGDC as well as several Masters and Doctoral students in Public Health Sciences (IKM) UNS. The event was opened at 07.30 with remarks by the Head of RGDC FK UNS, Prof. Ari Natalia Probandari, dr., M.P.H., Ph.D.

The main event began at 07.45 a.m. with a presentation delivered by the resource person, Mr. Nugroho Wisnu Murti, M.Sc., M.Ec.Dev., Akt., CA. In his presentation, he explained the benefits of bibliometric analysis, including to find out the position of the research plan, strengthen literature review in research, and become a scientific article itself (for example for independent study in doctoral education). In this workshop, Mr. Nugroho also explained about how to search for articles using the Publish or Perish 7 (POP7) software, how to use VOSviewer from the Scopus database, as well as bibliometric analysis and mitigation. In the world of research, VOSviewer itself can be used for bibliometric analysis, looking for topics that still have a chance to be researched, looking for references that are most widely used in certain fields and others.

After the presentation was finished, at around 8:45 a.m. the participants were invited to do a live simulation of using POP7 and VOSviewer. The event was continued with a question-and-answer session moderated by Vitri Widyaningsih, dr., M.S., Ph.D. The number of questions posed both technical and non-technical shows the enthusiasm of the participants in participating in this workshop. The workshop event was closed with a group photo session of all participants and resource persons at 09.30 a.m.
